So, this is yet another Brush Set sample from AxeRaider70, who in my opinion makes the best damn Brush Packs ever in existence. I suppose blood brushes are very common but this one is very slashy and may bring something else to the table in this particular category of brushing. To go in another direction though, I’ve used this brush set in my upcoming Underwater Seaweed Text Effect tutorial, which was a very bizarre experimentation, but it works extremely well, so don’t forget to check that out and also take a look at more of AxeRaider70’s brushes. I haven't exactly found a use for this brush set yet, but I'm thinking of losing my Digital Painting virginity sometime soon and maybe creating something really colourful like an exotic bird. I've never done it before, and I've seen some really astonishing and unique artwork around deviantArt (ahem, Joe Moore, ahem) so I thought I'd have a go at using this watercolour brush pack in Adobe Photoshop CS5. They're also high resolution, Gimp compatible, and free for commercial work so feel free to use them in your own digital artwork. Please double check the license beforehand though...

I really like this brush set because it's very scratchy, and I'm wondering if I should create a Digital Painting with this too? I think I'm becoming a wee bit obsessed with brushes now, but nonetheless, here's another I have to share with you. If you don't know what steel wool is, look it up. It's basically a texture of very fine stranded steel filaments and it's also known as wire wool, which is used when repairing/finishing metal or wood and making it ready to be varnished. It's used a lot by woodsmen and craftsmen. I'm very interested to see the outcome of somebody's design with this...
