PSD Tutorial: Designing A Comic Relief Red Nose Day Leaflet
In this Photoshop tutorial, I will show you how to design a leaflet that you can use to collect charity donations for the Comic Relief foundation. Red Nose Day is a day where we do something funny for money and raise awareness for charities. Fundraising for these charities helps a lot of countries that are much worse off than our own. We've also designed that Red Nose Day monster nose thingy that I think looks rather cute. If anybody wants to design a variation (or something else RND-ish) feel free to do so. There also a recognisable Nerd and a Pirate available to replicate.

Photoshop Tutorial Step 1: Designing The Red Nose Monster Thing
1.1. Begin a new A5 document, with 300 Resolution, and make sure the Image » Mode is CYMK if you intend to print your design.
1.2. Create A New Layer, and with the Elliptical Marquee Tool and Shift button, draw out a circle and then Fill it #CE1111.
1.3. Repeat the concept with the white eyes and black pupils, making sure they're identical in size and symetrical to the face.
1.4. Make sure each circle is on a New Layer so that you can add a Bevel & Emboss with 16px Soften and the Black Opacity at 25%.
1.5. Add an Inner Shadow with 30% Opacity, 0px Distance, 0% Choke and 250px Size and then Create A New Layer again.
1.6. Make sure the bottom of a black brush forms the mouth, then use a hard brush to erase unecessary areas. Lower Opacity.
1.7. Add A Clipping Mask and then follow the same concept for the teeth, Duplicating and Transforming and when necessary.
1.8. Maybe use the Warp Tool too, and don't forget to add that Bevel & Emboss again. Open up the Elliptical Marquee Tool.
1.9. Now, Cut the teeth out along the mouthline with it. Delete what's left over and Paste back in the teeth aligned with the mouth.

Photoshop Tutorial Step 2: Forming The Speech Bubble Thank You Message
2.1. With the Custom Shape Tool in the Talk Bubbles set, create a black speech bubble and inside write out your thanks message.
2.2. Make sure to use the Red Nose Day font I've included in this tutorial as it's the official Comic Relief typeface.
2.3. Now you should have your Red Monster Nose and a custom Thanks For Fundraising message, which looks really nice I think.

Photoshop Tutorial Step 3: Making The Comic Relief Header & Title
3.1. With the Text Tool, continuously type out your header horizontally accross the canvas or document and rotate.
3.2. I used the title "The Red Nose Era" because that is what our Red Nose Day Event was called.
3.3. In the Text Tool settings, there is an icon that says AV with opposing arrows, reduce this to squash the Letters up.
3.4. Now with a hard brush, make sure everything north of the text is a blocked colour like I've done in the below example.
3.5. Merge this brushed layer and the text, and then add a Gradient Overlay spanning from #CE1111 to a 35% Opacity Black.
3.5. Fyi, the merged layer should also be #CE1111 to blend correctly. Use a Color Overlay if you haven't already done it.
3.6. Now type out a single instance of your title and align it over the header, making sure the font is black.
3.7. Press Ctrl + Shift + T to use the exact same rotation as before.

Photoshop Tutorial Step 4: Finalising The Red Nose Day Leaflet
4.1. Now with another font, type out your message and any details you would like to include.
4.2. In my leaflet example I used the PetitaBold font which I've linked to in the Resource Box.
4.3. Merge All Layers and then add a Filter » Noise » Add Noise with 2px-5px depending on your canvas size.
