Resources Required: Rocky Textures & Sparkle Brushes
In this Adobe Photoshop CS5 tutorial, we’ll be using a rocky texture to create an underwater seaweed text effect in Photoshop. This is a very unique tutorial that uses textures I’ve never used before and a combination of colours that complement each other well. The effect is enchanting and a little magical, possibly the right medium to develop upon, creating a poster or some type of digital art: the kinds of art that needs to be visually enticing and themed. Post your example on our Facebook for an honourable mention, let’s see who can create the best example...

Resources Required: A Scanner, Paper & Pen
In this Abobe Photoshop CS5 tutorial, we will create a gothic-themed blood text effect. This tutorial is a little more hands on compared to our other tutorials, so grab your fine-liners set. We will be drawing the letters or glyphs with these fine-liners (in a typographic freehand manner). You don't have to literally draw them the same as me, but instead you can do it your own way. I'm just showing you my example for a little inspiration. I wanted my design to feel a little sickly and spiteful, yet with an added gothic feel, which is why I designed the typeface with those uniquely dripped serifs...

Resources Required: Brick Texture & Grafitti Brush
In this Adobe Photoshop CS5 tutorial, we will create a stencil from a Graffiti type calligraphy font of your choosing (this tutorial is very flexible and experimental). You can use any kinds of resources and textures you like on it. We're going to be using some very simple layer styles, fonts and brushing techniques so we can demonstrate, so feel free to do something more extravagant and don't forget to show us your results in the comment box. Anyway, we'll be using the stencil we've made to create many different urban style text effects from brushing, layer styles and blending modes...

Resources Required: A Medieval Font Download
In this Adobe Photoshop CS5 tutorial we will create a rather basic but rusty, three-dimensional (3D) text effect in Photoshop with a slight medieval aspect. This metal text effect tutorial is quite simple, and finishes with an embossed effect, an added grain, and a vague non-realistic shine. This is a very knock-one-out-of-the-park tutorial so it shouldn't take too long to complete. You can also dent the metal with an eraser brush to make it a little bit more three-dimensional. You should use this tutorial as a basis, and improve upon the free PSD for a more visually graphic effect...

Resources Required: Fleuron Brush & Pattern Download
For this Adobe Photoshop CS5 tutorial, you’ll need to download a brush and a .JPG fleuron. With the Photoshop brushes and flower pattern, we'll be creating a unique flower fleuron text effect. In the first example, we'll be implementing the pattern and adding gradient colours, but in the second example we'll be creating only an embossed effect, but again with the fleuron brush - both examples are extremely flexible, so don't forget to show us what you've created so that we can compare. You'll be surprised what amazing effects that you can create with such simple resources...
